The Morning After…

I think I speak for everyone present when I say that last night’s Powerpoint was exceptional. The main event between 7.30pm and 10pm comprised unparalleled fun, worship and a great challenge for all. No idea of the numbers, but suffice to say there were few, if any, spare seats in the hall remaining.

Around 60-70 remained behind after the event for Prayerpoint – an hour and a half of worship and prayer. Personally, I was so humbled by the response and the attendance at this and it was an incredible experience which I, and many others, feel will have made a difference in the lives of those present and those littered around Edinburgh and beyond.

I wonder how those of you who were there last night, felt when you awoke this morning? God was definitely speaking last night and the Holy Spirit was present and working amongst us. Did the feeling last until the morning? Did you wake up this morning and feel refreshed, revitalised and responsive? I hope so. It’s so important that we carry over the emotion of the event into the daily grind. It’s important that we remember what we learned and experienced and can apply to our entire lives the challenge given to us in Colossians 3:

“…. as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; 13bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you. 14And beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity”

Thanks go to those who worked so hard to make last night the special time that it was, especially those of you who came along because you are what makes Powerpoint what it is!

Keep checking the website for updates on the event. A provisional date for the diaries is Friday 15th June when we are intending on hosting an end-of-school-year Praise Party, or something with a catchier name – Partypoint anyone??? Ok, we’ll work on that one…

More details to follow….

Powerpoint March…

March... geddit?

Greetings Powerpointers and esteemed internet surfers….

Well, March is finally upon us and this month’s Powerpoint promises not to disappoint. In fact, we are trying something new this month. In addition to the usual Powerpoint japes, repartee and whimsical banter there will be a Post-Powerpoint Prayerathon… Or Prayerpoint as it shall forever be known. Basically there will be a short break after 10pm for those who can’t stand the pace or need to get up early in the morning to wash their parents’ car, to make their peace and leave. Then, we will have a time of prayer and some more low-key worship taking us to midnight….

If you feel up to it and have permission from all the relevant parties, then please do join us. If you don’t fancy it or can’t make it, then please do come along to Powerpoint as usual – why not bring a friend this time? I know there is one friend in particular you have been thinking of inviting…

Please do continue to check this website which will be updated more regularly now that the initial test period is over. I’m also glad to see that when you google Powerpoint Edinburgh, this is the first site you will be directed to, rather than some website taking you through the joys of the Microsoft application of the same name.

See you all next week…. FRIDAY 9TH MARCH @ 7.30PM – St. Thomas’, Edinburgh
