T-Shirt Competition

“T-Shirts, get your t-shirts, tell ‘em where you been by wearing a t-shirt” came the cry as the noble Prince Akhem rode into the palace on an elephant… no one else seen “Coming to America”? It’s a cracker, check it out…

Speaking of T-Shirts… and whilst I’m here, many of you have been spotted around our country’s capital sporting hand written t-shirts professing faith in the Gospel and a distinct lack of shame! Bring it on I say! Those of you who haven’t taken the time to design yours, get cracking now and send a photo of yourself wearing it somewhere interesting (geographically I mean, not on your person). Here is the email address:

Come now, time’s a wastin’….

Ignite

Ignite screenshot

This is a website that was announced at the Powerpoint September last Friday.

Ignite is a next generation social networking website for teenagers that was launched this summer by Scripture Union Scotland.

The site has four main areas:

Engage

Engage … with the world around you through news, reviews and having your say on the headlines. Also find out what’s on in the events diary

Seek

Seek … information about ignite, SU Scotland and the Christian faith. Find out who they are, what they do and how you can get involved.

Delve

Delve … into issues of life, faith and relationships from a Christian perspective. Explore the Bible’s story and how to develop your relationship with God.

Play

Play … flash games, chat, listen to music from Christian artists. Check out the centre webcams, enter competitions and send ecards to your mates.

Check out Ignite

Power

Powerpoint 2007-08

Just in case you didn’t know: the theme for this year’s Powerpoint is: POWER, and we’ll be working through the book of Romans.

I’ve now added the various themes and associated Bible passages to the When, Where and How Much? page.

I Believe…

I think I speak for everyone when I say: “Hiiiiiioooooooooooo”!!!

Great to see that Powerpoint is back and what a comeback it was. 450 of you crammed yourselves into St Thomas’ church last night. We were blessed with some wise, deep and humourous chat from the man that is Luis Palau and we learned the following…

  • Bill Gates’ full name is William Henry Gates III
  • George Foreman has 5 sons all of whom are called George
  • David Beckham plays with a different pair of (£300) football boots every game
  • And something about Alex Salmond (can’t remember what though)

We also learned that no matter how well drained a battery is, there’s always a little bit of juice left in it…

I don’t think they were the most important messages though.

T-shirt

OK everyone who was there now has their very own, much oversized, white t-shirt; however, it ain’t supposed to stay that way. Remember to get designing: write “I AM NOT ASHAMED” on the front and something on the back something like “of the Gospel” or words to the same effect.

Get a photo taken of yourself wearing it somewhere exciting and email to tshirt@powerpointedinburgh.co.uk – you may want to send a couple of photos to demonstrate just how good a design your t-shirt is! Prizes GALORE will be awarded at the next Powerpoint (Friday 12 October) – and if there are no prizes, there will be kudos aplenty!
